Woody wins the jacket

Following hot on the heels of Paddy the year before as the first repeat winner of the gold jacket, Woody managed to get his name on the jacket for a second time. Trailing by 5 going into the final round, the win was aided by some of the heavest drinking ever seen by a round 2 leader. Paddles arguably deserved the win given the exploits from the night before, but one has to respect Woody's 78 around Kidnappers which ultimately meant gold jacket glory.

Athletes win by the smallest of margins

It doesn't get much closer than 12.5 to 11.5. Dispite Hurricane's historic 10&8 singles victory over Masden, the depth of the Athletes lineup saw them get over the line with the final pairing of Patty and Paddles both winning their matches to take the Athletes to a 7 - 5 margin in the singles matchups and ensure victory. If anyone ever says that the strange co-captaincy with Baz and Marsden had anything to do the win, they are lying.

Course Ratings

Hastings one of the shortest courses we've played. Only 5 didn't break 100 (compared to 9 and 11 at the two below courses), but that doesn't take anything away from Grim's amazing 68. An awesomely welcoming club which would be enough to bring us back in a heart-beat.

Bridge Pa was a great course. Well manicured, a proper layout, well protected greens and some long par 3s. A real test.

Cape Kidnappers is nothing short of spectacular. Some of those holes along the coast are a sight to behold. Like all these types of courses if you're straight you can score, but if you're not, you better have a good stock of balls. Rain didn't even come close to ruining the day.
